MICHAEL WALKER - PASTOR
Since June 2025, I’ve had the joy of serving as pastor of First Baptist Church of Smyer, where my family and I have been warmly welcomed into this vibrant community as we look forward to all that God has in store. My wife, Tifany, and I have been married since August 2012, and we’re blessed with five wonderful children—Trinity, Uriah, Titus, Mercy, and Noah. With a Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies from Spurgeon College and currently pursuing my Master of Divinity at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, I draw encouragement from heroes of the faith like Charles Spurgeon, John Calvin, John MacArthur, and others, while enjoying reading, writing, exercising, coffee dates with Tifany, and time with our kids.
JAY BEASLEY - DEACON
I have been an active member of First Baptist Church of Smyer since 2016. I enjoy serving this church and the Smyer Community. My personal interests include camping, hiking, and spending quality time with family and friends.
BELINDA MAYE - CHILDREN’S DIRECTOR
Hi! I am Belinda Maye. I feel blessed to have grown up in a relationship with Jesus Christ. From the time my brother and I were born, being involved in church was an important part of my family. My parents and my Spur First Baptist Church family instilled in us a love for God’s Word and encouraged us to surrender our lives to Christ and to truly know Him as our Lord and Savior and then encouraged us to serve Him. Being a part of Smyer First Baptist Church for over 20 years has been a blessing. I have enjoyed playing the piano for church services, leading the Children’s sermon, and working alongside a slew of amazing Christian men and women providing our Jesus and Me program on Wednesday nights and Vacation Bible School during the summers. His Word and His plan for their lives is my passion! I am thrilled to be able to be a part of leading the young generation here at Smyer FBC in that direction of loving God, knowing His Word, fully surrendering their lives to Him, and living faithfully obedient for Him! My husband, Anthony, and I have 2 grown children and 6 grandchildren. Besides being with my family, I also love to read, to be outside enjoying nature, playing games, and messing around on the piano, and did I mention READ. I desire for everyone, no matter the age, that they know the love of our amazing God and Jesus’ life-changing example, that they would hear, read, and know the truth of God’s Word and courageously live it out each day and know they are supported here at Smyer FBC.
MATT SAED - MUSIC DIRECTOR
Originally from Minnesota and a proud Texas Tech Red Raider, Matts spiritual journey took root at First Baptist Church Smyer in 2004 when he was saved and baptized. Sensing God’s call shortly after, he was licensed for ministry in 2006. For nearly two decades, Matt has poured his life into serving the church, leveraging his musical talents to lead worship and inspire others to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus.
